Our weddings occur on Maui’s most stunning beaches, where we’ve performed over 2,000 ceremonies. These breathtaking locations feature long golden stretches of sand, swaying palm trees, and dramatic lava rocks, providing dreamy backdrops that capture the essence of love and Aloha. Each beach is carefully chosen to ensure your special day is perfect, surrounding you with the beauty and warmth of Maui.
How your wedding begins
The groom stands in a heart of rose petals on the beach, gazing at the serene sea and hearing the soothing sounds of the waves. Then, the sound of the conch shell pierces the tranquility, signaling the bride to walk down the aisle and prompting the groom to turn and have his “first look”. As the bride takes her first steps, the air fills with sweet ukulele melodies, harmonized by the Aloha-infused voice of our talented Hawaiian musician.
Once the bride reaches the heart of flower petals, our officiant extends a warm welcome to everyone on the island and presents the couple with flower leis that symbolize love and open hearts. These leis also serve as a reminder of life’s fragility, reminding the couple to cherish each day together. The couple exchanged leis and kissed each other on the cheek while being surrounded by the aromatic fragrance of the flower leis and beautiful ukulele. The officiant then speaks about the meaning of Aloha and the significance of friendship, leading the way for our musician to perform a traditional Hawaiian blessing (chant).
The ceremony continues with heartfelt reflections on the power of love and the beauty it brings to our everyday lives, and the significance of marriage. Couples have the option to write their own vows in addition to our thoughtfully prepared ones, solidifying their promises of love and commitment during the ring exchange. The ceremony then transitions to the sand ceremony, similar to a unity candle, which is a symbol of unity that represents the merging of individual journeys into a shared path. This meaningful ceremony can also include children or grandchildren, reinforcing the bonds of family as everyone contributes to the celebration.
The sand is poured into a handcrafted, “Aumakua Dream Jar,” made by a local Hawaiian artist. This is a one-of-a-kind keepsake that serves as a reminder of your love and commitment. Once home, you write down your dreams and goals and place them inside the jar to keep your dreams close to home.
The ceremony concludes with you being pronounced as Husband and Wife as the conch shell blows and echoes across the beach. As the conch fades out, the ukulele begins to play once more, inviting you both to share your first dance (barefoot in the sand) as a newlywed couple!
