Maui Weddings: Religious vs Non-Religious. What is the difference?
Congratulations, you’ve decided to tie the knot in paradise, AKA Maui! Maui is full of breathtaking backdrops, rich culture, and the spirit of aloha. There’s no better place to say “I do”. Before you walk down the sandy aisle, you are probably wondering what the difference is between religious & non-religious ceremonies.
Which one is best for you?
Affordable Barefoot Maui Wedding strives to personalize your ceremony and bring your beliefs to the forefront!
Here’s a closer look at the key differences between a religious wedding & and a non-religious elopement to help you decide which style is best suited for you!
Our Religious Maui Wedding
We know faith plays a central role in your relationship, our religious weddings allow you to express those values, while still having an authentic Hawaiian ceremony!
Maui Wedding Package includes:
Traditional vows with God as the interictal binder of your lasting marriage, strengthened with the power of God’s infinite well of love to draw from, and give to your new family. We make the wedding personal, including scriptures of your choosing. Some popular choices: 1st Corinthians,The Lord’s Prayer. We seal your commitment before God with the reading of your vows. (You may also choose non-denominational vows, which will reference God, but will include no scripture from the Bible.)
The blowing of the conch shell to begin the ceremony
A lei exchange, symbolizing love and open hearts
A meaningful dialogue about the spirit of Aloha and the importance of friendship
A sand ceremony symbolizing the joining of your joining of the two families and the couple’s commitment to each other – A great way to include children or grandchildren, further enhancing the unity and blessings shared by both Ohanas (Families).
Non-Religious Maui Beach Ceremony
Not everyone identifies with a specific faith, or any faith, and in Hawaii, this is not only accepted but also celebrated. Non-religious weddings focus on love and connection, highlighting Hawaiian values.
