Neither Stef nor Lisa had been actively searching for love when they signed up for online dating, but fate had other plans. From their very first conversation, there was an undeniable spark, and on June 25, 2021, they finally met in person. Both avid golfers, they quickly found themselves spending many joyful afternoons on the course. As their relationship deepened, Lisa introduced Stef to her son, Greyson. Soon, their family nights were filled with laughter, playing board games, video games, and watching movies. Before long, Stef moved in with Lisa and Greyson, and their little family felt whole.
In late October 2022, during a weekend getaway in Seattle, Stef had a plan. On a crisp autumn evening, while they rode The Seattle Great Wheel, Stef asked Lisa to marry her. With the city’s lights twinkling below, Lisa said yes, sealing the moment with both excitement and love.
One year later, while enjoying a round of golf, Lisa—along with a very special helper, Greyson—had her own surprise planned. She turned to Stef on the last hole and with a smile, asked her to marry her as well. Without hesitation, Stef said yes once again, and their double proposal was complete.
They set their wedding date for June 25, 2024—exactly three years to the day they first met. After exploring venues in Las Vegas, they realized their hearts were set on a destination wedding in Maui.
Planning our wedding with Barefoot Maui Weddings made the process seamless. The ceremony took place on the stunning White Rock Beach, a perfect backdrop for our special day. One of the highlights was how beautifully Shane, the officiant, included Greyson in the ceremony, allowing him to take part in both the lei exchange and the unity sand ritual, symbolizing our family’s union. Wayne, the ukulele player, added a personal touch by learning Canon in D, which he played as Greyson proudly walked me down the beach to meet Stef. The photographers captured every magical moment, and before we left the beach, we had nearly 400 beautiful photos to commemorate the day on a flash drive.
