Michael and Melanie met in July of 2020. Melanie’s friends at the time encouraged her to get a dating app, Hinge, and within a few days, she met Michael and was off the app. The app’s slogan is “The app made to be deleted,” as you’re supposed to find your person and begin a life together. They’re so thankful that they were able to do just that! From the moment that Melanie was near Michael on their first date, she felt like she was exactly where she was supposed to be. Since then, she’s never wanted to be anywhere else.
Michael is a parts and service Director for a car dealership and Melanie is a project manager for a dental manufacturing and distribution organization. They met on the Central Coast of California in 2020 and moved to Northern California in 2022. Northern California suits them well, and they’re thrilled to have made this move for their family.
Melanie & Michael knew they were meant for each other almost immediately upon meeting. Michael quickly told his mother, “I think she’s the one,” and Melanie recalls conversations with God asking him to please let him be the one. They are very affectionate toward one another and truly love just being together—no matter what they are doing. At home, watching a movie, out at dinner, or out with friends, they’re just so happy to be with each other.
If you’re into astrology, Michael and Melanie are both Scorpios, which may have something to do with the amount of passion and love they feel for one another. Ever since they first started dating, there has been this unwavering pull towards each other. They are truly destined to be together.
There’s a funny story about their wedding, as well. Michael and Melanie went out to a concert on May 9th. After the concert ended, they decided that they wanted to get married in Hawaii. Michael said, “I love you so much. I just want to get married.” Melanie thought, “Yeah, yeah—I know,” since he says this often. He said, “No, I’m serious, let’s get married in Hawaii.” He was really serious! The next day, Melanie reached out to Affordable Barefoot Maui Wedding, and we were able to help them plan a wedding in essentially one day that would take place the next week. Melanie & Michael rushed, shipped the dress, the tux, the rings, and everything else that they needed to make this wedding happen.
“The most special thing about our ceremony was being able to finally unite as one officially in such a beautiful place, surrounded by only each other on what was the most perfect, secluded beach. Shane, our officiant, was so incredible and made us feel our big moment in every way imaginable. I truly felt like taking photos together was really fun and those are moments that we will never forget.”
